    arloHeya all.

I'll have lots to talk about this week. So don't worry, you'll have your daily dose of Nick again.

First of all, awesome news. It's a girl!!! Anna Emilia Borders is on her way.

I am speachless. I honestly started to panic about 20 minutes after finding out. I never thought about the result of knowing the sex. Everything crossed my mind, boyfriends, clothes, makeup, even. . . Barbies (yech!).

I finally convinced myself that a good way to prevent little Anna from growing up to be a stripper is go change her diapers and read a book to her with a kiss on the forhead evey night. Now I can't wait a bit more every day.

I just hope she likes to fish, watch PBS, read good books, be in the outdoors and play X-box. Besides all that, my greatest fear is I want her to like me. I know that sounds funny, however my father was such a large force in my life, that I want the same for her. I just fear that it might be diffrent for a girl. Hell, I'm not a girl and never really understood women enough to relate to women on their level.

Than again, if she is 1/10th of her mother she will be just fine.

Lets hope I don't screw her up enough. Again, I can't wait.

    arloMan,

I don't know why, however this war has got me down. It is so hard to pull myself from the media barage for enough time to enjoy life and forget about world events.

It is sad to think that I would much prefer the pre-war reality TV than 9 hours of Wolf Blitzer's face. Lets try to think of things to make us happy.

  • Spring is springing around us! :)
  • My baby will be here in September
  • Chicago won for best picture . . .5-6-7-8!
  • This comic from a better time
  • This sign
  • This joke

Ahhh that's much better. I feel like a new person.

arloToday I was invited to take part in an investment club. I really hope it works. I would hate to throw my hard earned cash into a stupid thing.

Only investment clubs I have ever had contact with was the one that Marge was in on The Simpsons. LOL! Remember that episode, where she bought a pretzel franchise and Homer paid the mob to help her out. At the end the Itallian Mob fought the Japaneese mob. LOL .

I need to get a life.

arloI couldn't believe it when I heard it this morning on NPR.

    Mr. Rogers, dead?

I must have watched his show over 1000 times growing up. It followed Seseme Street and came before 3 2 1 Contact (cool science show).

Well, I am speachless. I'll go grab a cup of coffee and see if I can scratch together a day of work.

Can the world get any more depressing?

Time to Reboot Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

arloYes, it is time to reboot my work PC. I think it has been like 5 weeks since I had to start it. Here is a list of anoying things that I know will clear-up when I reboot.

    • My trillian is not showing up nicely
    • Photoshop now takes about 5 minutes to start.
    • I can't move my mouse too fast because it will lag, then I can't find the pointer, thingy.
Honestly, that is it. I know that is not a huge list, however my PC is just being funky. Time to restart. In fact, it may be time to just whipe the hard drive and start all over.

Nothing feels like a fresh installation of Windows. SHUTUP YOU MAC PEOPLE!

    UPDATE

All is fine now. After all these year, Reboot is the number one way to fix things on a PC.

Daredevil: Review Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

MoviesI first read Daredevil (DD) when I was 10 in '82. Back then Frank Miller was still delighting us with the horn-head. Not sure why, however DD was my man! I loved him ever since. And now the film.

What was I to think, would they screw it up? Would they get it all wrong? Would they make a Hollywood knock-off of my fav super hero. This fan-boy couldn't wait to see and find out.

First, of all they get the guy who wrote Grumpy Old Men to write and direct my man. WTF!?!?!

Next, they get Mr. Pritty-boy Ben Affleck to play the man without fear.

    WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!?

OK, this was all before I saw the movie. Lets just say, they nailed it. They got the entire pain of DD's life. Well almost everything. The only thing that was way-off in my eyes was that DD NEVER kills anyone. In the comic book, the guy is almost anoying about it. I always would say "just kill the guy already!" when reading the books. Fortunately they would bring in the Punisher now and then to clean up the scum now and then. -- OK, I just had a geek-out, sorry, I won't let it happen again.

Anyway, back to the movie. Ben, does a good job as Matt Murdock, and even looks good in the red suit. I was feeling like I missed DD's speed-os over the entire thing, however I got over it.

The writing was. . . well. . . comic book-like. I guess that is a good thing. After all, we are watching a comic book hero, so life isn't supposed to be too real, if you know what I mean.

The fight scenes were well done, and Bullseye was over the top, just like in the comic book. So, Colin Farrell, kudos!.

I do think the fight with kingpin should have waited till the second movie, and that the story was rushed way too fast. This should have been two movies, in my opinion. Hopefully there will be a better cut of the movie on the DVD.

    I give it a "B".

    TTYL!
